Early Childhood Hybrid Model

The 14-month Early Childhood Hybrid Model begins with a 5-week intensive summer session and is followed by online coursework during the practicum year. Two additional in-residence sessions are held over two long weekends during the practicum year.

Student teaching occurs over one school year as the adult learner develops their skills in the Montessori environment. Academic assignments reinforce their learning during the practicum year.

Two-year Academic Course Cycle Practicum

VCMS also has the ability to offer a two-year in-residence cycle for cohorts who prefer an in-residence model. Academic instructor begins with a six-week intensive summer session followed by weekend academic seminars scheduled over a one or two-year program cycle.

The student teaching occurs during nine consecutive months, five days a week and a minimum of four hours per day. This model is recommended for adult learners whose learning style is best suited to in-person learning.
