WEMS hosts several programs that are available to
primary and elementary students for an additional charge.
-
Guitar and Piano lessons
-
Students have the opportunity to study piano
or guitar at school during the instructional day. These lessons are
offered by Dr.
David Esleck, faculty member at the University of Richmond and
elementary music teacher at WEMS.
-
Science Club
-
Tracey Brockwell, a certified elementary
Montessori teacher, hosts the Young Naturalist Science Club which
meets on weekly from 3:00-4:30 pm. Elementary students use their
scientific minds and capable hands to build structures and perform
hands-on experiments.
-
Movement Class
-
WEMS mom and pilates studio owner Danica
Kalemdaroglu, teaches a primary class for ages 3-56 on Mondays from
12:45-1:15 pm. Dance helps children build confidence and
contentment, increase strength and flexibility and maintain a sense
of peace and calm. Movement is a great coping tool for the busy
lives of children. It can help improve concentration and is a great
complement to other sports activities.
