MUSIC AND MOVEMENT
This course is
designed to assist the student in developing and implementing
effective music and movement activities in a Montessori primary
class. The student will explore sharing music and movement
with 2.6 to 6 year old children within the context of the
Montessori view of child development including the importance of
movement in the development of children. We will help the
student to aid the child to develop a positive feeling and
appreciation toward many types of music and movement. The
course will cover teaching basic skills including
rhythmic skills, singing skills,
instrumental skills, the Montessori bells, music appreciation and history and
incorporating these activities into other curriculum
areas.
