CLASSROOM LEADERSHIP

An overview of classroom management skills to include preparation of the environment, scheduling, curriculum planning and design, lesson strategies, evaluation of children, techniques for discipline, communication and problem solving. This course includes:

1. Parent-Educator Partnership:  Techniques for developing the parent and community level of awareness of Montessori education and  understanding of Montessori philosophy.  The course provides options and strategies for parent-educator collaboration and application of these strategies.

2. Administration:  An overview of the role of administration within the structure of the school including review of licensing requirements, starting a school, legal structures of schools, budget and finance, the roles of consultation and accreditation.
3. Personal Awareness:  An opportunity for the student to develop an understanding of the important role that personal development holds in the professional life of a Montessori teacher.
