Course Description:  An overview course on theories and theorists of child development, stages of development, areas of development including physical, cognitive, emotional, social, current research and early childhood education.  The course provides a basis for comparison and contrast with Montessori’s theory and an opportunity to view Montessori within the historical context of the changing perception of the young child.
